Ironheads pushed to the Brink

The Green Gaels pushed the Ironheads to the brink of elimination Saturday night with an 8-7 victory on the road. Ethan Harwood got the start and the win stopping 33 of the 40 shots he faced.

The teams traded goals throughout the first period with goals by Connor Platt, Robbie Baxter and Owen Taylor giving the Green Gaels a 3-2 lead after 20 minutes.

The Ironheads would outscore the Gaels 4-2 throughout the second period and led 6-5 after 40 minutes.

Three straight goals from Bryce Dennis, Owen Taylor and Bronsen Muller would see the Gaels retake the lead.  Zachary Miller would score the Ironheads only goal of the 3rd period to get his team within one, but Ethan Harwood would shut the door and the Gaels would hang on to get the 8-7 victory.

The Green Gaels are back home this Thursday where a win will send them through to round 2 of the playoffs.
