Green Gaels Home Opener

With six straight games on the road to start the season, the Green Gaels are looking forward to getting back home to the Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex this Thursday, May 16 at 8:00PM for their Home Opener when they host the Brampton Excelsiors.

Off to a 4-1 record to start the 2024 OJBLL season, the Gaels are not showing signs of being home sick, but getting back to Clarington to play in front of the Gaels home crowd is something that the club has been looking forward to for weeks. With the Clarington Eagles still fighting for the Schmalz Cup against the Lakeview Canadiens, the Gaels will begin the home portion of the schedule on Pad B at the Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex, and will move to Pad A as soon as the ice is out following the completion of the Schmalz Cup.

The Gaels faced off against the Excelsiors in the first game of the season on May 2 at Memorial Arena in Brampton, taking the victory by a score of 11-6. However, both teams will look significantly different than the first meeting with a number of players on both rosters returning from school to fill out the rosters. Since May 2, the Gaels picked up victories over Gloucester, the Mountaineers in Mimico, and Orillia, with the only loss on the season coming against the Nepean Knights. The Excelsiors are currently sitting at 1-5 on the season but will face the Newmarket Saints on Tuesday night prior to visiting Clarington on Thursday evening.

Tickets for Green Gaels home games are $10 for adults, $7 for seniors and students, while children 12 and under are free under the supervision of an adult.
