Ryan has coached with Clarington Minor Lacrosse since 2013 following being a part of the Clarington Shamrox coaching staff from 2010 through 2012 winning three straight Meredith Cup Championships. More recently, Ryan was part an assistant coach with both the Brooklin Merchants Sr B club as well as Brooklin LC in the MSL. Ryan played for the Green Gaels from 2001 through 2003, capturing a Founders Cup National Championship with the Gaels in 2002.

Rounding out the coaching staff for the 2025 season will be two more Green Gaels alumni.

After taking a year away from the arena in 2024, Ryan Douglas will be joining the Green Gaels bench as an assistant coach who will be responsible for the defensive end of the floor. Most recently, Ryan coached with the Clarington Shamrox beginning in 2019 as an assistant coach under Kevin O’Brien and following the lost pandemic seasons, Ryan assumed the role of Head Coach with the Shamrox from 2022 to 2023, leading the club to an Eastern Conference championship in 2022. Finalizing the Green Gaels coaching staff for the 2025 season will be Brady Kearnan. Brady committed to the Green Gaels coaching staff only days after helping coach the Queen’s Gaels to their first Baggataway Cup Finals appearance in team history at the 2024 CUFLA Championships. Brady returns to the Green Gaels organization following four years at Mercy University where he scored 138 goals and 251 points in 49 career games for the Mavericks. He was drafted by the Georgia Swarm 20th overall in the 2022 NLL Entry Draft following a Junior Lacrosse career in which he played for for the Clarington Shamrox in 2016, the Green Gaels in 2017, and for the Toronto Beaches of the OJLL in 2018, 2019, and 2021. Following his University career, Brady completed his rookie NLL season with the Georgia Swarm in 2024. Brady was instrumental in organizing and coaching the 845 Box Lacrosse program in the Lower Hudson Valley in New York and will look to continue growing his already strong coaching resume with the Green Gaels where he will be handling the Offensive coaching responsibilities under Head Coach Ryan Preston.

With the changes to the coaching staff, the Green Gaels organization would like to take the opportunity to thank both Jay Lee and Chris Tucker for their contributions to the organization over the past three seasons as they led the team forward following the lost pandemic seasons. Being hired in 2022 shortly before the season began, both Jay and Chris brought countless years of experience to the Gaels bench and brought stability to the organization as the team looked to an unknown landscape following two missed seasons. Helping develop players on and off the floor, Jay and Chris were instrumental in the outcomes of the young men that have pulled on the Green Gaels jersey over the last three seasons. We wish Jay and Chris well in their future lacrosse endeavors.

Preparations for the Joint Evaluation Camp are well under way ahead of the 2025 season with more announcements to come in the following days from the Green Gaels.
