Green Gaels Announce 2020 Coaching Staff

The Green Gaels have parted ways with Head Coach Joel Johnson as well as Assistant Coaches Brad Reed, Kyle O'Brien and Todd Collins. We want to take a moment to thank all four coaches for all their hard work and dedication to the Green Gaels organization. Together the 2019 coaching staff led the Gaels to a 19-1 Regular Season something that outgoing Coach Joel Johnson said was something for both the players and the Coaching Staff to be extremely proud of.

We are excited to announce that Jason Wiswell has been named the new Head Coach of the Clarington Green Gaels. Wiswell joins the Gaels after leading the Jr C Whitby Warriors to a perfect season as well as a Meredith Cup Championship. The team went a perfect 26-0 before finally capturing the clubs first ever Championship at home last August. Jason has also reffed at the highest levels of lacrosse throughout the years, reffing the Mann, Minto and Founders Cup Championships.

Jason Wiswell has recruited former Gaels Alumni Jeff Fernandes, Kurtis Wagar, Will Petschenig and Nate Andre to fill out his 2020 Coaching Staff. Will Petschenig returns as Greens Gaels Defensive coach, his second season behind the Bench for the Green and White. Former Green Gaels Defensive Coach Nate Andres will return after several season away to assist the Coaching Staff. Jeff Fernandes takes over the role of Offensive Coach, Fernandes is familiar with Wiswell's coaching style having coached along side each him during the Warriors run to the Meredith Cup this year. Finally Kurtis Wagar is the Green Gaels new Goaltending coach bringing with him a wealth of experience having played in the NLL with the Bandits, Titans, Rush and Wings. Wagar and Andres are familiar with each other as well having both won the Founders Cup with the Green Gaels in 2002.
