Gaels serve Northmen first defeat

The Orangeville Northmen tasted defeat for the first time this season at the hands of the Green Gaels.

The Northmen entered the night as the only undefeated OJBLL team with a perfect 10-0 record.

Ethan Harwood got the start in goal for the Gaels. While both Northmen goalies would see action.  Harwood would turn away 48 of 56 shots faced for the win

After only scoring 1 goal in the first period (Connor Platt) the Gaels trailed 2-1 after 20 minutes. However a quick offensive explosion to start the second period would lead to a change in goal for the Northmen. The majority of both teams scoring came in the middle frame and we would be deadlocked at 7 after two periods.

The two teams would exchange goals in the third before Connor Platt would score the game winner with less then three minutes to play. Platt (3G 2A), Tucker (1G 3A) and Muller (1G 3A) would lead the Gaels offensively.

The Green Gaels are back home Thursday night when they host the Ironheads for the final time this season. The Gaels lead the season series with a Win and a tie. The Gaels can take an 8 point lead atop the division with a win Thursday night (however the second place Ironheads have two games in hand).
