Gaels pushed to the Brink in Akwesasne

The Green Gaels played their second game of the weekend in Akwesasne Sunday afternoon. Ethan Harwood would get the start stopping 37 of 49 shots faced in the loss.

This time it was Akwesasne who came out with a 3-0 lead in the first period. Goals by Platt and Dennis drew the Gaels within 1, before Akwesasne scored to take a 4-2 lead. Goals by Baxter and McDonnell had it looking like we would head into intermission tied at 4, however a last minute goal had Akwesasne up 5-4 after 20 minutes.

Two more goals by Baxter in the second as well as Connor Platt and Nolan Schott each finding the back of the net had the Gaels leading 9-8 after 40 minutes.

Unfortunately a 5 goal explosion by Akwesasne in the final frame were no match for Baxters 4th goal of the game and sealed the Win for the Indians.

The Gaels are next in action this Friday at home, however a game time has yet to be decided upon. The Gaels are facing 3 must win games if they want to keep there season alive and move onto the Conference Finals against either Halton Hills or Nepean. If necessary Game 4 will go Saturday and Game 5 Sunday (Both games will take place at Rickard although we are still waiting for the exact game times).
