Gaels have perfect weekend

The Green Gaels won their third game in 4 days and gained 6 crucial points in the standings with just one week left in the regular season.

Ethan Harwood once again got the start in goal for the Gaels stopping 38 of 45 shots for the win.

The Gaels trailed 3-2 after 20 minutes and were tied at 5 after 40. That's when the wheels seemed to fall off. The Gaels went to work on a 5 minute Powerplay in the third, the Indians would score shorthanded and then again on a Powerplay to take a 7-5 lead.

With just over 6 minutes remaining Max Taylor would get the Gaels within 1, however was then accessed a 5 minute penalty for boarding. Connor Platt would score shorthanded tying the game and John McKinney would score the game winner with less then a minute to play.

With the 6 points the Gaels can finish as high as first and as low as 6th place. The Gaels have a 6 point lead over the Ironheads (who have just 4 games remaining) for the division crown and a guaranteed top 3 finish in the standings.

The Gaels final home game of the season is this Thursday at 8pm when the Halton Hills Bulldogs come to town. The Gaels then finish the season on the road in Halton Saturday evening and Newmarket Sunday afternoon.
