Gaels Down Ironheads in Exhibition
The Green Gaels took to the Floor Saturday afternoon in West Durham for an exhibition game against the Ironheads. Craig Johannson started the game in net for the Gaels who showed nothing but support for their Goaltenders scoring 4 straight to start the game. The Ironheads would answer back, however it was 5-2 for the Green Machine after 20 minutes.
More of the same from the Gaels to start the 2nd period as they would score three more before the Ironheads finally answered with there 3rd of the game. Halfway through the period Garrett Thompson would take over in goal for the Gaels. But the narrative didn't change and the period would end with the Gaels up by 10 (13-3 after 40 minutes).
Things never got any better for the Ironheads as a 6-1 3rd period would see the contest end 18-4 in favor for the Green Gaels.
Matt Drimmie (4 Goals), Julian Mosier (4 Goals), Owen Vivian (3 Goals) and Bryce Dennis (3 Goals) led the way on offence.
The Green Gaels now turn the attention to the regular season as they host the Orillia Kings Thursday night at the Garnett B Rickard. That game is an 8pm start.
