Dominate performance by Platt downs Saints

Connor Platt had more points than the Saints had goals on the evening. Platt scored 7 times and added 2 assists as the Gaels downed the Newmarket Saints 13-8 and improved their record to 3-0 so far this season.

The Gaels got off to an early lead and looked to dominate early. However Newmarket would trail by just 2 after 20 minutes, and after the Gaels found themselves in some penalty trouble were able to get within one.

After the Saints were able to  score twice on a 5 minute Major in the second the Gaels would outscore the Saints 5-1 the remainder of the night.

Muller, Hyland(2), McNutt, Dennis and Smith were the other goal scorers for the Gaels. While Malcolm Vivian turned aside 30 of 38 shots faced for his second Victory of the season.

The Gaels have a busy weekend ahead of them with Games in Gloucester and Nepean. We then return home Thursday to take on the Orangeville Northmen, Game time is 8pm at Rickard.
