Gaels seek Third Straight Win
The Gaels took to the floor for their third game of the season Thursday night looking to start the season off 3-0.
Matt Drimmie started things off right putting the Gaels up 1-0. The (1-0) Brampton Excelsiors would fight back with back to back goals by Da'Silva and Bergie. Christie and McPherson would answer back for the Gaels, who would take a 3-2 lead into the first intermission.
Christie, Owen Lee and two goals by Bronsen Muller in the second frame increased the Gaels lead to 5. However a late period penalty would lead to an Excelsiors Powerplay Goal. The Gaels would end the frame up 7-3.
Back to back goals to start the third period saw the Gaels lead cut to two. The teams would then trade goals with Dennis getting his first of the night. Down 2 with time becoming a factor the Excelsiors would pull the goalie for the extra attacker, however they were unable to beat the Gaels Goaltender and the Game would end 8-6 in favor of the Gaels.
The Green Gaels now 3-0 to start the season have the week off, their next game being Thursday night when they host the West Durham Ironheads. The week doesn't end there however with Home Games Saturday at 7pm (Gloucester) and Sunday at 1pm (Nepean). On top of 3 home games the Green Gaels will also be hosting an Alumni Game Saturday evening at 5pm.
We encourage all our fans to come out and see some Fantastic Lacrosse and also to see some old but familiar faces take the floor.
